12-kilometer locust teams can become havoc for farmers, committees made for prevention

Lucknow, JNN.  Locusts are expected to increase their risk. Recently, more than nine locust teams have reached different districts of Rajasthan by crossing the border of Pakistan. There is a possibility of knocking on the border of Uttar Pradesh after four to five days of the 12 km long locust. Meanwhile, a locust team has entered Madhya Pradesh hovering over the borders of Prayagraj, Kaushambi and Chitrakoot. Locusts are hovering in the surrounding districts on Thursday due to westerly wind. The UP government has been instructed to take special vigilance by coordinating with the farmers concerned departments. There is also special vigilance due to the possibility of locusts coming to Lucknow and Barabanki from Rae Bareli, Fatehpur and Kanpur.

Tanker tractors, fire department vehicles and pesticide reserves have been set up in blocks in Lucknow. District Agricultural Defense Officer Dhananjay Singh said that preparations are complete. The wind trend is also being monitored. In fact, the locust party crossed Yamuna from Prayagraj to Kaushambi on Thursday and also entered Chitrakoot. In the forests of Garhwa village and Bargarh of Mau tehsil, farmers were frightened after seeing locusts hovering within a radius of one kilometer for a long time.



When the farmers reached the fields with a clap, the locust flew towards Rewa in Madhya Pradesh and the farmers breathed a sigh of relief. Deputy Director of Agriculture at Chitrakoot TP Shahi said that joint departmental teams have been sent to monitor locusts. The locust is unlikely to stop in the district in terms of speed. Locust teams can reach Rewa in Madhya Pradesh.

12 km long locust party growing from Rajasthan: More than nine locust squads have reached different districts of Rajasthan by crossing the border of Pakistan. In this, the administration and agriculture department have been alerted and have kept an eye on the trend of the wind, looking at the possibility of locust teams coming to Jhansi in Jaipur and Jodhpur. If the wind direction does not change, then this 12 km long locust can come to Jhansi in the next 5 days.

  • Orchard chloroparifas 50 percent or 28 percent of deltamethrin is dissolved in one ml of water and sprayed on trees.
  • Fire fighting carts, tractor mounted sprayers, municipal tractors, departmental power sprayers, foot sprays, drums, drums and DJs are ready at all times to deal with locusts.
