2 % DA Hike Announced: Good news for central employees! 2% increase in DA announced, they will get benefits

DA Hike: DA Hike: This state CM on Friday announced a 2 per cent hike in dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees and pensioners.

DA Hike: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s government has given great news to its government employees. The state government on Friday (April 11) announced a 2 per cent hike in the dearness allowance (DA) of state employees. Its direct benefit will be given to about 8.5 lakh employees and pensioners. These employees will get the benefit of increased DA from January 1, 2025.

An official statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office said that with this increase, the ratio of DA for government employees and temporary increase for pensioners will increase from 53 per cent to 55 per cent. The statement said that the increase will be applicable retrospectively from January 1, 2025 and the employees will get the increased DA as a cash benefit along with the April salary. It was said that this decision will benefit about 8.5 lakh employees and pensioners of the state government.

Gift to the employees of Uttar Pradesh

Recently, the Yogi government has given a big gift to the employees of the state government. The Yogi government has announced a 2 percent increase in DA and 2 percent increase in DR for the employees and pensioners of the state. Now the dearness allowance of state employees and dearness relief for pensioners will increase from 53 percent to 55 percent. Its direct benefit is going to be given to 16 lakh employees. These employees will get the benefit of increased DA from January 1, 2025.

Good news for central employees

Recently, the central government has approved a 2 percent increase in DA for its existing employees. With this, the dearness allowance of central government employees will increase from the current 53 percent to 55 percent of their basic salary.

What is DA?

DA is the dearness allowance given by the government to its employees. Usually, the government considers this twice a year keeping in mind the rising inflation. Along with DA, DR i.e. Dearness Relief is also increased. DR is given to retired employees.
