2% DA Hike: The Yogi government has given a big gift to the state government employees. The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a 2% increase in Dearness Allowance and 2% increase in Dearness Relief for its state employees and pensioners (UP Govt Employees and Pensioners). Now the dearness allowance of state employees and dearness relief for pensioners will increase from 53 percent to 55 percent. This increase will be considered effective from January 1, 2025.

What did the state government say?
In a statement issued by the state government, it has been said that the Government of India has decided to give 55 percent dearness allowance under the seventh pay scale from 01-01-25, in relation to that, the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is also going to increase the dearness allowance for state employees from 53 percent to 55 percent from January 1, 2025, that is, 2 percent increase has been made in the DA of state employees.
How much will the salary increase?
This decision of the government will benefit about 15 lakh state government employees. If the basic salary of an employee is Rs 18,000, then his salary will increase by Rs 360 every month. Because DA 53% on 18000 basic pay makes the total dearness allowance Rs 9540. Now DA has become 55 percent, in such a situation the total allowance will be Rs 9900.
Similarly, if someone’s basic salary is Rs 50 thousand, then according to 53% DA, he would get dearness allowance of ₹ 26,500, but according to DA of 55 percent, he will get DA of ₹ 27,500. That is, the salary of such employees will increase by 1 thousand rupees.
After the central government, UP government increased DA
It is worth noting that last month the central government had announced an increase of 2 percent dearness allowance and dearness relief to crores of employees and pensioners. After this, now the Uttar Pradesh government has announced an increase in dearness allowance. The state government gives the benefit of increase to its employees only after the central government increases the dearness allowance.
