20 companies supported by Chinese military including Huawei and Hikvision – US

Washington. The Trump administration has claimed that the top 20 Chinese companies, including Chinese telecom equipment maker Huawei Technologies and video surveillance company Hikvision, are owned or supported by the Chinese military. This has laid the foundation for new US financial sanctions. Last year, Washington put Huawei and Hikvision on a trade blacklist over national security concerns. Stopping the burglary of Huawei in the 5G Generation Network has become a priority for President Donald Trump.



An international campaign is being organized by Washington to persuade other countries to exclude Huawei from their 5G network so that they can be banned in case of sharing American technologies with Chinese companies.

According to a Reuters report, a Department of Defense (DoD) document states that 20 companies operating in the United States are supported by Chinese troops. The DOD document includes China Mobile Communications Group and China Telecommunications Corp as well as aircraft manufacturer Aviation Industry Corp of China. Huawei, China Mobile, China Telecom, AVIC and the Chinese Embassy in Washington did not respond to requests for comment.

Hikvision called the allegations baseless, it was not a Chinese military company and had never participated in any R&D work for military applications but would work with the United States government to resolve the matter.
