The deadline for exchanging Rs 2,000 note has been extended. Central bank RBI has today extended it till 7th October i.e. next Saturday. This means that if you have two thousand rupees. If you have a note and have not been able to change it yet, you have time till next Saturday. RBI has given this information through press release.
Through a press release, RBI said that after the completion of the process of withdrawal of Rs 2000 note, based on its review, it was decided to postpone it further. In such a situation, its deadline has been extended till October 7. Earlier this deadline was 30 September. RBI said that these notes will remain legal tender.
