New Delhi, Siddhartha Sharma. It was the year 2015 when Hyundai launched its Creta in the Indian market and it became an instant hit after its arrival. In five years of travel, the new model of this SUV has been removed and what new things Hyundai has done in their All New Creta for 2020, we will know in this whole review.
The Hyundai Creta has been a market leader in this segment, topping the market share in this segment of SUVs, until it came to be called Seltos from South Korea as a half-sister. Everyone started thinking that Creta’s market share would be reduced due to the reaction of its half-sister to Tiger Nose Grill. However, he did not understand that his ancestral lineage may be similar, but Hyundai has more than 20 years of experience in the Indian market.
Indian customers always want a banged up vehicle and the all-new Creta is offering them everything they need in an SUV. I feel free to say that its half-sister Seltos has no chance now.
We drove the diesel top end variant of the All New Creta which comes with a 6-speed manual transmission. However, we are waiting to drive the GDI petrol powered motor, which comes with a 7-speed DCT transmission and we are going to run it soon. The diesel motor may not be the top choice among Indians, as we see a shift towards petrol SUVs, though the Creta diesel has a fairly good fan following. So, let us tell you what is on New Creta and how is its performance.
The new 2020 Creta comes with a bold and muscular design and this SUV meets the demand for an SUV in the 21st century. The Hyundai designers have retained the lifelike silhouette of the old Creta in a way, but considerable changes have been made to the front and rear of the vehicle.
You can see on the smoothly enhanced lines and a bumper design that make a dramatic first impression. Hyundai’s signature cascading grill has also joined Creta’s attractive factor as it offers triple slat hexagonal chrome grills. What is the interesting design front for the headlamp.
Hyundai has given Crescent Glow LED DRLs on the new Creta with a Trio Beam LED headlamp giving it a futuristic and classy look. The Hyundai Creta 2020 front is something that gives this SUV a road presence as before. However, the rear design is something in which it looks completely different from other SUVs. Even I was a little skeptical about the all-new Creta’s rear design, but it seems to be doing something with the angles. If you look at the rear design of the new Creta in the pictures then you will feel that there is something closed here, but if you see this car in reality, then you will see its design increasing.
The design of LED tail lamps in the rear of this SUV adds a different look. In the Creta you see a sporty and aerodynamic rear spoiler and it also has a shark fin antenna. The highlight on the boot lid is something that gives this SUV a unique approach and no other SUV in this segment offers such a rear end. Overall, the new 2020 Creta comes with a great build quality.
Interior and features
Hyundai is known for making feature rich cars, be it Santro or Tucson, you know that if you are buying a Hyundai, you get everything you need in these segment cars. That is why Creta is also no different. If you feel that Hyundai’s half-sister is giving you more features than any other SUV in this segment, then you need to pay attention to the list of features of the 2020 Hyundai Creta.
Our review car comes with a modern and sophisticated black and grease interior. The grease color is a mix of gray and seed and it looks quite interesting inside the cabin, as it gives you a sense of more space.
Seats are also plenty for the front passenger and driver. Apart from this, three people can be adequately fitted on the rear seats, which provide adequate leg, shoulder and head room. A large sunroof has been provided for the entire cabin, which is a great offering in the 2020 Creta.
Now talking about the feature list, the new Creta has more than 50 features for you, here I tell you my favorite features.
– Leather-covered D-cut steering wheel
– Rear Seat Headrest Cushion
– Front Row Ventilation Seats
– Digital display with 17.78 cm SuperVision cluster
– Rear USB Charger
– Rear Window Sunshade
– Voice enabled smart panoramic sunroof
– Driver Rear View Monitor
– Smartphone Wireless Charger
– Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with 26.03 cm HD infotainment
– BOSE Premium Sound System
– Advanced Blue Link Connected Car Technology
So the 2020 Hyundai Creta has something for everyone, but one of the features offered is my favorite in-built car air-purifier. The air-purifier system is provided at the center on the armrest of the Creta. This is something that will be required in view of the Kovid-19 epidemic. We used it in turbo mode and the system took less than 10 minutes to reduce the AQI levels inside the cabin. This was by far the most impressive thing inside the new Creta for us.

Performance
The 2020 Creta that we received for the review comes with a manual transmission with the SX (O) diesel version. The vehicle has a 1.5-liter BS6 U2 CRDi diesel engine in its chest that comes with a 6-speed manual transmission. This engine generates a maximum power of 115 PS and torque of 250 Nm. Whether driving in the city or on the highway, the engine does a better job and its torque appears to be fairly well distributed. The pulling power of the new Creta is also unprecedented and is a performance bump to ensure on outgoing models.
According to us the NVH level inside the cabin was by far the best in the segment because despite being a diesel engine, we could all hear the noise of the AC fan. Surprisingly, there was no vibration inside the cabin and it looked completely like a petrol SUV while driving the SUV. As soon as you press the metal pedal, you will see a complete surge of torque in it. Despite being an SUV the center of gravity on the new Creta is very well balanced by engineers at Hyundai. It can also bend easily above average speed. The drive will always feel great to you and you will always feel in control behind the wheels.
For this review we drove the Creta a little over 600 km and gave us a mileage of 15.5 kmpl, which is fantastic given the fact that we were not driving it frugally. Talking about the suspension of this SUV, you also get to see a big plus point here. It can eat pits on Indian roads throughout the day and you can also drink a cup of coffee inside the car. The mobility of tire travel on the pits has minimal impact inside the cabin and is a big deal for SUVs in India. Overall, the new Creta is seen filling all the vacancies in the performance department for us.
With a price point that is competitive and minimally lower than its top-end step sister, the all-new Hyundai Creta is an SUV that will rule India as the king of SUVs in this segment. It is very attractive in appearance, the driving dynamics are very good and it gives you all the features in terms of safety. We have no reason to ask you to buy its half-sister instead of the new Creta, but I would definitely say that if you are looking for an SUV that offers you a bang then it is the 2020 Hyundai Creta.
