Actually, the Sikkim government has announced an increase in dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) for state government employees and pensioners. This information has been given through an official circular.
The official circular said that the dearness allowance of state government employees and the dearness relief given to pensioners receiving salary under the revised basic pay structure will be increased from the current 50 percent to 53 percent from July 1, 2024. That is, DA was increased by 3%.

In a circular issued on March 21 by the Controller of Accounts cum Secretary, Finance Department, it was said that the dearness allowance of state government employees and the DR of pensioners receiving pension under the pay structure before the revised basic pay scale will be increased from the current 239 percent to 246 percent and it will be effective from July 1, 2024.
Central employees will also get relief soon!
Let us tell you that central employees will not have to wait much longer for their DA hike and pensioners for dearness relief i.e. DR hike. It is reported that a final decision can be taken on this in the upcoming meeting of the Union Cabinet which is to be held on Wednesday this week. According to media reports, this time there is a possibility of only 2 percent increase in DA, which will be the lowest compared to the last 7 years. For the last few years, the central government has been announcing an increase in DA every time around Holi. However, this year it has not been announced yet.
