3% DA Hike: Good news for employees! DA increased by 3%, salary of government employees, they will get benefits

7th Pay Commission: The decision to increase dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) for central employees and pensioners has not been taken yet. This increase will be for the January to June half year.

7th Pay Commission: Central employees are waiting for dearness allowance (DA). Meanwhile, announcements regarding dearness allowance have started coming in the states. In this episode, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced a three percent increase in dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees from April this year. With this three percent increase in DA, Tripura government employees will get 33 percent DA.

What did the Chief Minister say

Chief Minister Manik Saha said in the assembly, “I announce the release of three percent DA for government employees and pensioners from April 1, 2025. This will increase the DA of state government employees from 30 percent to 33 percent. For this, the government will have to bear an additional financial burden of Rs 300 crore annually.”

He said that the government wants to reduce the difference in dearness allowance between state government employees and central government employees. He said that this work will be done gradually. Earlier, states like Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Jharkhand have also announced an increase in the allowances of their government employees.

Central employees are waiting

The decision to increase Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for central employees and pensioners has not been taken yet. This increase will be for the January to June half year. Employees were expecting a big announcement before Holi but it could not happen. Let us tell you that this allowance, which is directly linked to the basic salary of a government employee, is increased twice a year. The government revises the DA to reduce the impact of inflation on employees and pensioners.

How much increase this time

It is believed that this time there will be an increase of 2% in dearness allowance. If this happens, DA will increase from 53% to 55%. Let us tell you that on the basis of AICPI (All-India Consumer Price Index data) for July-December 2024, DA is expected to increase by 2%.
