Cyclone Asani: In view of the severe cyclonic storm ‘Asani’ rising in the Bay of Bengal, many airlines have canceled their flights to Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and Chennai in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday. The operation of these flights from Asani has been affected. According to the warning of the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain may occur in some parts of West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. With which there is a possibility of recurrence of cyclonic storm Asani.
These flights were canceled
Visakhapatnam International Airport director Srinivas said that IndiGO has canceled 23 flights citing bad weather.
He said that four Air Asia flights are also canceled due to bad weather in Visakhapatnam.
At Chennai airport, 10 flights have been canceled including Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Jaipur and Mumbai. According to the Chennai Airport Authority, the information about the cancellation of passengers was given yesterday.

Kumar, duty officer of the Cyclone Warning Center, Visakhapatnam, said that the severe cyclonic storm Asani is over the west-central region and adjoining south-west region over the Bay of Bengal.
He said, “It is 330 km south-southeast of Visakhapatnam, it is likely to move north-west by tonight, after which it will start again.”
Rain forecast in these areas
Apart from this, Kumar informed that there is a possibility of rain in North Andhra Pradesh including Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and East Godavari.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday predicted rain and strong winds in three states – Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal.
When will asani reach
The Meteorological Department said that it is very likely to move almost northwestwards by the night of May 10 and reach west-central Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh coast and adjoining Odisha coast. Thereafter, it is very likely to turn north-northeastwards and move towards northwest Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh and Odisha coast. It is very likely to weaken gradually into a cyclonic storm during the next 24 hours.
