Kia India recently wrapped up the launch of the EV6. With the EV6, Kia has shown its capabilities in the EV space. So what is Kia’s plan after the EV6? Kia, before the launch of the EV6, was testing & planning quite a few products.
We think Kia’s hands will be full with new launches for the upcoming months. So in today’s article, we will cover four upcoming cars from Kia. You should definitely pay attention since these products can really prove to be value-for-money options for you.
Kia Seltos facelift
The Seltos grabbed everyone’s attention with its bold design and features when it first launched in the country. The Seltos still looks contemporary, but Kia has unveiled an even bolder facelift in the South Korean market. The facelift gets a new DRL design and also revised tail lamps. Kia has added a new digital instrument cluster, a rotary gear shifter and leather upholstery on the dashboard to enhance the cabin’s appeal. According to rumours, Kia might add ADAS functionality on the new Seltos. When will it be launched in India? Last month, the Kia Seltos was first time spotted testing in the country. Kia is expected to launch the Seltos facelift by the end of this year or sometime next year.

Upcoming cars from Kia – Carens CNG
The Carens is raking in good sales due to its premium fit & finish. However, Kia is looking to increase the value for money quotient of the Carens by bringing a CNG option. With the CNG option, Carens will be an alternative for Ertiga CNG buyers. The Carens CNG was spotted with the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine. This will be quite a unique combination of a turbo engine with CNG. Could Kia be the first manufacturer to bring a CNG automatic car in India? Looks like they will be, given no other manufacturer achieves this first.
Kia Sonet CNG
Another car from Kia’s stable getting the CNG treatment could be the Kia Sonet. Earlier this year, a Sonet with CNG kit was spotted testing. Like the Carens, the CNG setup was mated to a turbo-petrol engine. Is this Kia’s new plan? Certainly seems like that. Kia is working on CNG cars as it wants to offer more alternatives to its buyers. Sonet could become the first car in its segment to get a CNG setup if they are quick on their feet. Why do we say this? Since Tata Nexon and Maruti Brezza are expected to be offered in CNG variants as well.
Upcoming cars from Kia – Mass-market electric SUV
Kia has entered the electric segment with the EV6, but what about an affordable option? According to reports, Kia is working on a mass-market EV for the Indian market. Will it be a ground-up EV? No, it will be based on a flexible platform supporting both EV and gasoline powertrains. The product is still in its initial stages of development, so we can’t comment more on this product. However, one thing that can said for sure is that this product will enter the market by 2025.
