500 Rupees Note Holders! RBI issued important guidelines regarding Rs 500 note, know the latest update

500 Rupee Note Holder Alert: RBI has responded to the rumors spread about the Rs 500 note and told whether the Rs 500 note with the star in the middle of the serial number is genuine or fake. What does the star mean in this.

Such a rumor spread on social media regarding Rs 500 note that RBI also had to come forward. RBI has dismissed all the apprehensions being expressed on social media regarding the validity of the note with ‘star’ mark (*). In this case, RBI has said that if you have received such a bank note, which has a star in the middle of the series, then this note is also valid like any other note.

Know what RBI said

In a statement issued by RBI, the star mark has been added to the number panel on the note to be issued in place of the wrongly printed note. Seeing this star mark, some people compared it to another 500 rupee note and called it fake or illegal, after which RBI took cognizance and gave information. The Reserve Bank said that notes with a star mark are issued instead of wrongly printed notes in a bundle of notes with serial numbers. This star mark is placed between the number of the note and the letters to be entered before it.

What is the meaning of the star mark on the note?

The Reserve Bank made it clear that the bank note with the star mark is like any other legal tender. Its star mark simply shows that it has been issued in place of a changed or reprinted note. Let us tell you that the trend of star note was started in the year 2006 to make the printing of notes easier and reduce the cost. Earlier, the Reserve Bank used to replace the wrongly printed note with the correct note of the same number.
