59,100 Indians got American citizenship
The 2023 annual report by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services said that more than 59,000 Indians have got US citizenship in the year 2023. According to the official report, 8.7 lakh foreign nationals have become US citizens by the end of fiscal year 2023. Out of which more than 1.1 lakh Mexican citizens have got US citizenship. After this comes the number of Indians, who are 59,100.
Citizens of the Philippines and Dominican Republic are also included.
Apart from this, citizens of the Philippines are included in the third position. About 44,800 citizens of the Philippines and 35,200 citizens of the Dominican Republic have been granted US citizenship. However, these applicants must meet certain requirements set forth in the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) to become eligible for U.S. citizenship.
