The Central Government has announced a big increase in Dearness Allowance for some employees. This increase in dearness allowance will be effective from July 1, 2023. The dearness allowance of these employees has been increased from 15 percent to 18 percent, due to which there can be a big increase in their salary. However, its benefit will be available to those employees who get salary under the 5th and 6th Pay Commission.
According to the statement of the Finance Ministry, the DA of these employees has been increased under the 6th Pay Commission and 5th Pay Commission. In the office memorandum issued on November 16, it has been said that the dearness allowance of the employees of the Department of Public Enterprises has increased.
How much DA increased under 6th Pay Commission
It has been said in the office memorandum that the existing dearness allowance for the employees of Public Sector Enterprises drawing pre-revised pay scale or grade pay of the Sixth Pay Commission has been increased from 212 percent to 230 percent, which means that Dearness Allowance of employees has been increased by 18 percent. This increase will be effective from July 1, 2023. Due to 18 percent DA increase, the salary of employees can increase by up to Rs 7 thousand.
DA under 5th Pay Commission
It has been said in the memorandum that the salary of CPSEs employees has been increased under the 5th Pay Commission on CDA pattern pay scale. These employees have been divided into two parts. First, those employees who have not taken the benefit of 50 percent DA merger. His DA has been increased from 462% to 477%. Under the second category, DA of the employees availing the benefit of 50 per cent DA merger has been increased from 412 per cent to 427 per cent.
Dearness Allowance under Seventh Pay Commission
It is noteworthy that under the 7th Pay Commission, dearness allowance of Central Government employees has been increased from 42 percent to 46 percent. This increase in dearness allowance is effective from July 1, 2023. A few days ago, the Central Government had announced a 4 percent increase in the dearness allowance of these employees, but did not announce the increase in dearness allowance under the Sixth and Fifth Pay Commission.
