If there are Loksabha elections, the government will also pay full attention to them. 50 percent dearness allowance (DA) of central employees has been confirmed. Now just waiting for its announcement. As soon as this is announced, two more good news will be confirmed for them.
1. Dearness Allowance (DA) will increase
First of all, the central employees will get the gift of increase in dearness allowance. However, this will have to wait till March 2024. AICPI index numbers from July to December 2023 have confirmed that now at least central employees will get 50 percent dearness allowance. November AICPI index numbers have arrived. December numbers are still pending. There has been a 4 percent increase in dearness allowance so far. The current DA rate is 46 percent, if we look at the AICPI data, the score of Dearness Allowance has reached 49.68 percent. The index is currently at 139.1 points.
2. There will be a rise in Travel Allowance (TA)
The second gift will be in the form of travel allowance. With the increase in DA, there is a possibility of increase in Travel Allowance (TA) also. In such a situation, by combining travel allowance with pay band, the increase in DA can be even higher. Travel allowance is linked to different pay bands. In higher TPTA cities, travel allowance for Grade 1 to 2 is Rs 1800 and Rs 1900. Grade 3 to 8 gets Rs 3600 + DA. Whereas, for other places this rate is Rs 1800 + DA.
3. There will be revision in House Rent Allowance (HRA) also
The third and biggest gift will be received in the form of HRA- House Rent Allowance. Revision in this also is to happen next year. The next rate of revision in HRA will be 3 percent. Actually, according to the rules, it will be revised if the dearness allowance crosses 50 percent. At present HRA is given at the rate of 27, 24, 18 percent. It is divided into categories Z, Y, X of cities. If dearness allowance will be 50 percent then HRA will also increase to 30, 27, 21 percent.
Central employees will get these 3 gifts
Increase in dearness allowance, increase in travel allowance and HRA revision for central employees, all three are expected by March next year. Usually, the government announces the dearness allowance applicable from January in March. In such a situation, it will be decided only in March 2024 how much dearness allowance will be given. If DA crosses 50 percent then there will be a revision of 3 percent in HRA. At the same time, there may be an increase in travel allowance according to the grade.
