DA Hike: Ahead of the festive season, great news has come for the government employees of Sikkim. The Sikkim government has increased the dearness allowance (DA) of its employees by 4% ahead of the Durga Puja Festival. This information was given in a circular issued by the state Chief Secretary VB Pathak.

Will be applicable from January 1, 2024

The dearness allowance of state government employees and dearness relief of pensioners will be increased from the current 46% to 50% from January 1, 2024. The circular states that Dearness Allowance will also be payable to employees receiving revised pay in the regular pay scale of the state government, employees appointed on contract and workload establishments.

Central employees may get a big gift

Meanwhile, central government employees are eagerly waiting for their DA hike, which is expected to be announced in October. According to sources, a special cabinet meeting is going to be held on October 3, 2024, in which a big decision can be taken regarding the increase in dearness allowance (DA).

According to sources, in this meeting, the dearness allowance (DA) of central employees can be increased by 3%. This will increase the current DA from 50% to 53%. This increase will be effective from July 2024, and employees will also be given arrears of 3 months between July and September.
