New Delhi. Lakhs of central government employees and pensioners waiting to increase Dearness Allowance (DA) are going to get good news soon. The central government, which has not yet given any official statement on increasing DA, can make an announcement before Dussehra.
According to Moneycontrol , media reports say that the Modi government can give a big gift to its employees and pensioners on the auspicious occasion of Navratri. The central government announces to increase DA every 6 months, which is increased to provide relief to the pensioners to the employees relative to inflation. It is believed that on September 28, it can be approved in the cabinet meeting to be led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Dearness Allowance may reach 38 percent
Sources say that in view of the high rate of retail inflation, the government can increase the dearness allowance by 4 percent this time. After this, the DA will increase to 38 percent. Earlier in March 2022, the government had announced to increase DA, then it was increased by 3 percent. After this DA was increased from 31 per cent to 34 per cent. This time due to higher inflation rate, DA can also be increased more.
Since when will the government get the benefit
If the government announces to increase DA in September, then it is possible that this amount will be increased in the salary coming in October, while the remaining month will be paid as arrears. 47 lakh central employees and 68 lakh pensioners will get its benefit. The increase in DA of employees is done according to their pay scale. The higher the basic salary, the more the dearness allowance increases.
How much will your salary increase
Suppose that the basic pay of an employee is 40 thousand rupees, then he gets 34% of it i.e. 13,600 rupees as dearness allowance. If Dearness Allowance increases to 38 percent, then its total amount will also increase to Rs 15,200. In this way, the salary will increase by Rs 1,600 every month and will get Rs 19,200 more in a year.
