Dearness allowance will increase once again. It will be announced in March. But, it will be considered applicable only from January 2023. Central employees are currently being paid 38 per cent dearness allowance (DA Hike). AICPI index figures have been released. From July to October 2022, the inflation figures for industrial workers have increased continuously.

How much will be the DA Hike?

The next year’s announcement will be in March 2023. But, the assessment of dearness allowance will become clear after December. At present, the figures till October are in front. In this, the inflation figure for industrial workers has increased by 1.2 points. The number of All India CPI-IW in October stood at 132.5 points. According to the rate of every month, it has increased by 0.91 percent. The Labor Bureau has collected retail prices from 317 markets. 88 industrial centers have been covered in this.


Where did inflation increase?

1- The figure of food and beverages has increased rapidly. There has been an increase of 2 points in this. In September the figure was 131.9 points, while in October it remained at 133.9 points.
2- After this, the inflation of pan, betel nut, tobacco products has increased. The figure was 147.4 in September, which stood at 148.5 in October. There has been an increase of 1.2 points in this.
3- In the case of clothing and footwear, a slight increase has also been seen. The figure was 129.7 in September, which has reached 131.9 in October. There was an increase of 2.2 points in this.
4- There has been no change in the case of housing. In September the figure was at 121.0, which remained the same in October.
5- There has been no increase in the inflation of fuel and light. This figure has been at 177.8 points in September and October.
6- A slight increase has been seen in the case of Miscellaneous inflation. It has increased from 127.5 to 128.4.
The group index stood at 132.5 points in October as against 131.3 points in September.

Dearness allowance may increase by 4 percent

According to experts tracking the dearness allowance under the 7th Pay Commission, it is clear from the kind of increase seen since July that the dearness allowance (DA Hike) of January 2023 may increase by 4%. With this, the dearness allowance will increase to 42 per cent. Employees will get benefit from January 2023. However, it will be announced after Holi in March 2023. With a 4 percent jump, the salary of the employees will increase by a total of Rs 720 per month. At the same time, this increase will be Rs 2276 per month for the maximum salary range.
