Pensioners wrote a letter to PM Modi
The Indian Pensioners’ Forum (BMS) has appealed to PM Modi to clear the arrears of Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) of central employees and pensioners. The Department of Expenditure under the Ministry of Finance of the Office Memorandum said that the DA payable to central government employees will be increased from the existing 17 per cent to 28 per cent of the basic pay. In April last year, the Finance Ministry had put on hold the increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) till June 30, 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The DA rate was 17 per cent from January 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021.

At present, talks are going on with the government regarding this. He said that in view of the demand of the employees, it is expected that the government will give arrears.
