7th Pay Commission: There is good news for central employees. The thing that the central employees were demanding and waiting for a long time can be fulfilled. It is being told that the central government can soon take a big decision on the outstanding DA arrears of 18 months.

Regarding DA arrears, the Central Government had earlier said that no consideration is being given to it. But now it is expected that the central employees can get the outstanding DA arrears before the new financial year.

In fact, due to the Corona crisis, the government had stopped the payment of arrears from January 2020 to June 2021. In this connection, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had said a few days ago that ‘Dearness allowance of these employees was stopped due to Corona epidemic, so that the government could help the poor and needy with that money. Salaries of government ministers, MPs were also cut during the pandemic. Along with this, no deduction was made in the salary of central employees nor was there any cut in DA . The whole year and DA and his salary were paid.

But now it is expected that the central employees can get the outstanding DA arrears before the new financial year. According to reports, the government is planning to give a lump sum of Rs 1.50 to the government employees. If this happens, government employees will be greatly benefited.

Shiv Gopal Mishra, Secretary (Staff Side) of National Council of Joint Consultative Machinery (JCM), says that JCM’s joint meeting with officials of Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure is to be held soon. In this meeting, the decision to increase DA Arrears will be taken. That is why central employees do not need to worry about DA arrears at all.

Shiv Gopal Mishra says that the central government can do one time settlement of the stuck DA money. He says that the DA arrears of Level-1 employees range from Rs 11,880 to Rs 37,554. DA of Rs 1,44,200 to Rs 2,18,200 is drawn on employees at Level-13 (7th CPC Basic Pay Scale of Rs 1,23,100 to Rs 2,15,900) or Level-14 (Pay Scale). Let us tell you that the amount of arrears will be different for different grades of employees.

Let us tell you that during the Corona period, the dearness allowance of central employees was kept on hold for 18 months, after which the central employees were continuously demanding that outstanding dearness allowance.

With this, the dearness allowance (DA) of employees can be increased by 3 percent. After this, dearness allowance and dearness relief to central employees and pensioners will increase from 31 percent to 34 percent. A hike of 3 per cent can increase the salary of government employees up to a maximum of Rs 20,000 and a minimum of Rs 6480. Dearness allowance is paid on the basic salary.

If we look at the calculation of minimum basic salary when dearness allowance is 34 percent, then the minimum basic salary of a central employee is Rs 18,000. After the DA is 34 per cent, it will increase to Rs 6,120 per month. That is, it will increase by Rs 540 per month. If we look at the salary on an annual basis, then there will be an increase of Rs 6,480 in it. At the same time, there will be an increase in the maximum basic salary by Rs 1707. Accordingly, the salary of these employees will increase by Rs 20,484 on an annual basis.
