7th Pay Commission latest news: In the midst of record inflation, good news came for the central employees. From July, their dearness allowance (DA) increased by four percent. Now they will be paid dearness allowance at the rate of 38 per cent. Till now it was 34 per cent.
But, the good news did not stop there. Now his other allowances are also going to increase. On the basis of All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI), dearness allowance has increased by 4 percent. This will be added to the salary of the employees in September. It will be paid with two months arrears.
1.16 crore central employees benefited
The government fixes DA of central employees twice a year. Revision is done in DA in January and July. DA was increased by 3 per cent to 34 per cent in January 2022. Now according to the figures of AICPI-IW, it has increased by 4 percent. This increased to 38 per cent. This will benefit 1.16 crore central employees and pensioners. The government increases DA to give relief to its employees from inflation. The number of the AICPI index has been above 129 points.
How much will the salary increase?
If the basic salary of an employee is Rs 1,8000, then according to 34 percent, he gets DA of Rs 6,120. If the DA is 38%, the employee will get Rs 6840 as dearness allowance. Meaning it will get more than Rs 720. Similarly, the monthly dearness allowance will increase at the rate of 4% at each level. With the increase in DA, the employees will get more allowances. With the increase in DA, the amount of PF and gratuity also increases. At the same time, the city and travel allowance also increases. Apart from this, revision in HRA of central employees will also be done on time.
What about 18 Months DA Arrear?
The central government has not paid the arrears of DA to its employees for 18 months i.e. between January 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021. During this, the dearness allowance of the employees was kept frozen due to Kovid-19. This is money for the same period. Employees have been demanding its payment for a long time. The union had claimed some time ago that talks can be made with the government on the DA arrears of 18 months. But, no decision has been taken on this yet.
