7th Pay Commission: Central government employees are waiting for the increase in Dearness Allowance i.e. DA for the first half of the year. Let us tell you that at present the allowance i.e. DA of central employees is 46 percent.

7th pay commission latest news: Central government employees are waiting for the increase in Dearness Allowance i.e. DA for the first half of the year. At the same time, the Karnataka government may delay the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission in the state. In such a situation, government employees may face a shock this year.

Why is the problem getting stuck?

According to a news in Times of India, this delay could be due to revenue crisis. Officials say the government’s focus will be on mobilizing resources to fund the 5 guarantee schemes. Representatives of the Karnataka State Government Employees Association (KSGA) are concerned about this possible delay. The employees union hopes that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will accept the Pay Commission report.

KSGA secretary Sadananda Nelagudri said the demand for salary hike is long pending. KSGA also said that there is no need to announce the salary hike in the budget. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah can announce this even earlier.

Salary was increased in 2018

Let us tell you that in the year 2018, Siddaramaiah had accepted the recommendations of the 5th Pay Commission and announced a 30% salary increase for the employees just before presenting the budget of 2018-19 in February. This led to an increase of Rs 10,508 crore in government expenditure. However, a senior official of the Finance Department said that this time the government may face problems. A similar 30% increase would result in a loss of about Rs 12,000 crore to the government but the demand is for a 40% increase. It is expected that Rs 16000 crore will be spent on this.

According to the news of Times of India, the five guarantee schemes will cost the exchequer an estimated Rs 58,000 crore in 2024-25. The state’s tax revenue in the current financial budget is estimated at Rs 1.7 lakh crore.
