New Delhi.  The Union Cabinet on Thursday approved 3 per cent Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) hike for central government employees and pensioners. A senior official of the Department of Expenditure said that due to the increase in inflation, the central government has decided to increase DA. Let us inform that 47.14 lakh employees of the Center and 68.62 lakh pensioners will get benefit from this decision of the government.

Calculation on 31% DA

Let us tell you that after the approval of the previous increase, the DA of the central government employees had increased to 28 percent. Therefore, now with the approval of the new increase of 3 per cent, the DA will increase to 31 per cent.

The total dearness allowance has increased by 11 percent as compared to last year. The government has reduced it to 28 percent from July 2021. Now with dearness allowance (17+4+3+4+3) it will reach 31 percent. That is, if the basic salary of an employee is Rs 50,000, then he will get DA of Rs 15,500.


July came into force in 2021, the new rate

can tell you that the government was July 1, DA-2021 was increased to 28 per cent, 11 per cent of the time, 17 per cent. But for the period from January 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021, it was decided to keep the DA at 17 per cent only.

Dearness Allowance is a fixed part of the basic salary of the employee. To reduce the effect of inflation in the country, the government gives dearness allowance to its employees. It is extended from time to time. Pensioners get this benefit in the form of Dearness Relief (DR).
