3 Months arrears will also be paid
Central employees are waiting for the increase in dearness allowance (DA Hike) for July 2024. DA is set to increase by 3 percent in the coming days. After the increase in DA, there will be a good jump in the salary of central employees. Till now, employees are getting Dearness Allowance at the rate of 50 percent. But, if 3 percent more is added to it, DA will increase to 53 percent. Arrears of three months will also be paid.
How much money will increase after 3% increase?
After 3% increase in DA, the money of the employees will increase according to different categories. Dearness allowance is calculated according to the basic salary. Dearness allowance and dearness relief are available from the current 50 percent. With the increase in DA, there is a direct increase in salary. How much money will increase on pay-band Rs 56,900 basic?
Dearness allowance is to be increased for July 2024. By June, the AICPI index has reached 141.4. On its calculation, the total increase in DA is believed to be 3 percent. DA will increase to 53 percent. Now if we calculate DA on the basic of Rs 56,900, then the total dearness allowance along with salary in the account of central employees will be Rs 30,157. 56,900*53/100=30,157 rupees. If seen on an annual basis, it becomes 30,157*12= 3,61,884 rupees. However, dearness allowance is revised every six months. Therefore, this annual calculation has been calculated only for estimation.
More than 1 crore employees-pensioners will benefit
With a 3 percent increase in dearness allowance, more than 50 lakh central employees and more than 65 lakh pensioners will benefit. It will be implemented from July 1, 2024. Its announcement is possible by the end of October. After this, DA arrear of July, August, September will also be added with the payment. Earlier in March 2024 also, dearness allowance was increased by 4 percent.
