7th Pay Commission, 7th CPC Latest News, Government Employees: Dearness Allowance (DA) of central employees has been recently increased from 17 per cent to 28 per cent. There has been an increase of 11 percent in the DA of the employees. DA is increased twice a year but due to Corona, it was frozen for the last one and a half year (January 2020 to June 2021). Due to this, together there was an increase of 11 percent.
On the lines of the center, many state governments have also increased the DA of their employees. Usually, state governments also revise it only after the Center increases the DA. After increasing the DA of the Center, the Rajasthan government first increased the DA. The employees of Rajasthan are being given DA at the rate of 28 per cent.
At the same time, the Haryana government has increased the DA for its employees and pensioners by 11 percent. Gujarat government increased the DA of employees by 11 percent. The enhanced DA is valid with effect from 1st July, 2021. Along with this, 2 months arrears are also being given to the employees. Jharkhand has also increased the DA for its employees and pensioners to 28 percent.
In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief Allowance have also been increased from 17 per cent to 28 per cent, with effect from July 1, 2021. Uttar Pradesh has also increased the DA to 28 percent. This will benefit about 16 lakh government employees and 12 lakh pensioners. In Himachal, 6% DA hike has been given to government employees-pensioners.
