Their wait for hike in DA and DR is likely to end soon. If everything goes well, then this month i.e. in the last week of September, the Central Government can give them a big gift of increase in salary.
According to information received from sources, an important meeting of the Union Cabinet is going to be held on September 27. It may be announced anytime, but every year the first increase in dearness allowance comes into effect from January and the second from July.
Given the inflation figures, central employees are hopeful that this time too there may be an increase of 4 percent in DA. If this happens then dearness allowance will jump from 42 to 46 percent.
Actually, the Central Government decides to increase the dearness allowance on the basis of AICPI data released by the Labor Ministry. Once again a big increase has been recorded in the AICPI figures for the first half i.e. January to June 2023. After this it has reached the level of 46.24 percent.
In such a situation, central employees are hopeful that their DA will increase from 42 percent to 46 percent. However, only after the official announcement it will be clear how much the DM of central employees increases this time.
