Dearness allowance is increased twice every year
The central government increases the dearness allowance of employees twice every year. Dearness allowance is revised in January and July. The dearness allowance of employees (7th CPC DA Hike Update) is usually increased before Holi and Diwali. In such a situation, the employees will get a big relief before the festival. The government can announce the increase in dearness allowance at any time. The increase will be considered effective from January 2025.
Earlier, dearness allowance was increased by 3 percent
Dearness allowance (7th CPC DA Hike Update) was last increased by three percent. It became effective from July 2024. It was increased from 50 percent to 53 percent. At the same time, earlier on March 7, 2024, an increase of 4 percent was announced. The central government had increased the DA from 46 percent to 50 percent.

This time such an increase is possible
The data of All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI) for December 2024 has come for central employees. According to this, dearness allowance (7th CPC DA Hike Update) can be 2 percent. An increase is expected in this. If the government approves, then DA and DR can reach 55 percent.
Announcement will be made before Holi
There was no discussion about dearness allowance in the cabinet meeting on March 5, 2025 for central employees. After this, it is now expected that there may be an increase in dearness allowance (7th CPC DA Hike Update) by March 12. If the government announces an increase in dearness allowance for central employees, then more than one crore employees will directly benefit from it.
How much will the salary increase
With the increase in dearness allowance, the salary of the employees will increase. If the DA increases by 2%, then the basic salary of Rs 18,000 (Basic Salar Hike) will increase by Rs 360 monthly. With this, the dearness allowance of the employees (7th CPC DA Hike Update) will increase from Rs 9,540 to Rs 9,900 per month. On the other hand, if this increase was 3%, then the DA would have increased by Rs 540 to Rs 10,080 per month. However, a 4 percent increase in DA seems impossible right now.
