7th Pay Commission DA Hike: In the cabinet meeting on Wednesday, it has been announced to increase the dearness allowance (DA) for central employees and pensioners. The government has decided to increase it by 3%, after which it has increased from 50 percent to 53%. The increase in DA and DR will be implemented from July 1, 2024.

7th Pay Commission DA Hike: More than one crore central employees and pensioners will benefit from the decision taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. Meanwhile, five state governments have also announced an increase in dearness allowance (DA) for government employees. The DA hike will provide financial relief to the employees amid rising inflation.

The DA hike before Diwali and the 3% increase in dearness relief (DR) for pensioners will be effective from July 1, 2024. Along with the increased salary of the month of October, employees and pensioners will also be given three months’ arrears. The Odisha government has approved a 4% increase in dearness allowance (DA) for employees working in the state’s public sector (PSUs). They are receiving salary on the basis of the revised pay scale of 2017. After this increase, DA has increased from 46% to 50%. It has been implemented from January 1, 2024.

On the occasion of Dussehra, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu announced a 4% increase in dearness allowance (DA) for government employees and pensioners. It will be implemented from January 1, 2023. Apart from this, outstanding medical bills of government employees and pension dues for pensioners above 75 years of age will be settled immediately.

The Jharkhand government has increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) for government employees by 9%. Earlier employees were getting DA of 230% under the Sixth Central Pay Commission. In the new salary hike, it has been increased to 239%. Which will be made effective by the government from January 1, 2024.

Before Diwali, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai announced a 4% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees. After this, the total dearness allowance has increased to 50%.

The Sikkim government has announced a 4% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees ahead of the Durga Puja festival. State government employees will get 50% instead of 46% DA from January 1, 2024.
