The data helps the government in deciding the Dearness Allowance of the employees. According to this, there is to be an increase of 4 percent in DA this time. Dearness allowance of central employees is linked to AlCPI-IW. If this figure increases, then dearness allowance also increases in the same order.
Index number reached 129.2
We have the figures for the first half. The index has now reached 129.2 by including the June figures. Experts are claiming that dearness allowance will increase by 4 percent. In May, the AICPI index was at 129 points. More than one crore central employees and pensioners will get the benefit of 4 percent in dearness allowance this time.
When will the 38% DA be announced?
After increasing the dearness allowance by 4 percent, the total dearness allowance of central employees will reach 38%. At present, dearness allowance is being paid at the rate of 34 per cent. The new dearness allowance will be announced in September 2022. Earlier there was discussion that the government can announce it in August itself. But, the central government will announce dearness allowance in next month’s cabinet meeting. However, it will be considered applicable from 1st July 2022. The payment of new DA in salary will also be available from the month of July. 2 months arrears will also be given.
How much will the salary increase?
Under the 7th Pay Commission, on the minimum basic salary of Rs 18,000, according to 38 percent, the total increase in annual dearness allowance will be Rs 6840. This means that the total dearness allowance will increase by Rs 720 per month. At the same time, on the maximum basic salary bracket of Rs 56,900, the total increase in annual dearness allowance will be Rs 27312. That means you will get Rs 2276 more than the current dearness allowance. The cabinet secretary level officers get a basic salary of Rs 56900. On adding the new dearness allowance, the total annual dearness allowance will be Rs 2 lakh 59 thousand 464.
