AICPI’s April 2022 data releasedÂ
Infact, the April 2022 data of the All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI) has arrived. It has registered a gain of 1.7 points. AICPI stood at 127.7 in April, while it stood at 126 in March.
If we look at the data of AICPI, since February till now these 2.7 points have increased. Dearness allowance is decided on the basis of these numbers. In such a situation, on increasing it, there is an increase in dearness allowance.
There was a jump in AICPI in March as well
Let us tell you that there was some decrease in AICPI figures in January-February, but in March there was a big jump in it. While the AICPI index stood at 125.1 and 125 respectively in January-February, it increased by 1 point to 126 in March. Now in April it has increased by 1.7 points to 127.7. If the AICPI figures increase in May and June also, then there may be a 5 percent increase in dearness allowance. An increase of 4 percent is believed to be fixed till the figures of April 2022.
Right now employees are getting 34 percent DA
Let us inform that at present, dearness allowance and dearness relief are being given at the rate of 34 percent to central employees and pensioners. It is revised twice a year (January and July). In January 2022, the dearness allowance was increased by 3 percent. Now the way the AICPI index is rising, it is indicating at least 4 percent increase in dearness allowance.
Why is dearness allowance given?
Dearness allowance is given to the government employees to improve their living conditions. It is given to government employees, public sector employees and pensioners. The reason for giving it is that the standard of living of the employees should be maintained even in the rising inflation.
Know how much will the salary increase if it is 38 percent?
Employees whose basic salary is Rs 56,900, they will get Rs 21,622 as DA on getting 38 percent dearness allowance. Since according to 34 percent DA, such employees are getting Rs 19,346 at present, then their monthly salary will increase by Rs 2,276. That is, the annual salary will increase by Rs 27,312.
By how much will the salary increase on the minimum wage?
Similarly, after the dearness allowance becomes 38 percent, the employees with 18 thousand basic salary will get DA of Rs 6,840. These employees are currently getting Rs 6,120 according to 34 percent DA. That is, their monthly salary will increase by Rs 720. In this way, the annual salary will increase by Rs 8,640.
