7th Pay Commission Latest News: Employees (Central government employees) can once again get the good news of increasing salary. After getting the first dearness allowance, then HRA and TA promotion, now they can get a gift again in the new year. Actually, discussions are going on to increase the fitment factor.

May increase fitment factor

Earlier in the year 2016, the fitment factor was increased. The 7th Pay Commission was also implemented in the same year. At that time, the minimum salary of the employees was directly increased from Rs 6000 to Rs 18,000. Now the government can increase the salary of central employees (CG employees) again in the year 2022. According to sources, the fitment factor of central and state employees may increase at the beginning of the year. With the increase in fitment, the minimum wages of central employees will once again increase.

What is fitment factor

The fitment factor is the factor that increases the salary of central employees by more than two and a half times. According to the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, the salary of central employees is determined by their basic salary and fitment factor in addition to allowances.

Government is considering

In fact, there has been a long-standing demand of central and state government employees that their fitment factor should be increased from 2.57 per cent to 3.68 per cent. It is expected that the fitment factor of central employees can be decided before the budget to be presented on February 1, 2022. After this, the minimum salary of the employees will also increase.

Calculation on minimum basic salary

  • Minimum basic salary = Rs 18,000
  • Salary excluding allowances = 18,000 X 2.57 = Rs 46,260.
  • 26000X3 = Rs.78000 on 3% basis
  • Total addition = 78000-46,260 = 31,740

That is, the overall salary of the employees will increase by Rs 31,740. This calculation has been done on the minimum basic salary. The benefit of those with maximum salary will be more.

May be included in the budget draft

The fitment factor of central employees can get approval from the Union Cabinet. After the approval of the cabinet before the budget, it can be included in the expenditure of the budget. But if it gets the approval of the cabinet, then there is no special need to include it in the budget (Budget 2022) draft.

How much will the salary increase

If the fitment factor (Central government employee fitment factor) is approved, then there will be a bumper increase in the salary of the employees. In fact, increasing the fitment factor also increases the minimum wage. At present, employees are getting salary under fitment factor on the basis of 2.57 percent fitment factor. Now the discussion is going on to increase it to 3.68 percent.

Emphasis on increasing the fitment factor by 3 times

The government wants to implement the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, but is not in favor of increasing the minimum salary under 7th CPC. The government can increase the fitment factor by 3 times. With the increase in the fitment factor, the basic pay of the employees will increase from Rs 18000 to Rs 21000. He also got assurance in the meeting of the employees union with the cabinet secretary. If sources are to be believed, the government is now paying more attention to the fitment factor.
