DA will increase by 4 percent to 42 percent
Central employees will get the gift of dearness allowance next year. This will be applicable from January 2023. But, it will be announced around Holi in March 2023. With a jump of 4 per cent, dearness allowance will reach 42 per cent. There will be a total increase of Rs 720 per month on the minimum basic salary. At the same time, Rs 2276 per month will increase for the maximum salary range. Actually, the Labor Ministry has released the figures of All India Consumer Price Index- Industrial workers (AICPI). In September, this figure has been at 131.2. The AICPI index has gained a total of 2.1 per cent till September 2022 as compared to June. In comparison to August last month, there has been a jump of 1.1 percent.
The number will be counted for the second half
The AICPI index numbers will count for the second half. Based on the data till December 2022, there will be an increase in dearness allowance in January 2023. New dearness allowance is applicable from January every year. But, it is announced in March. DA is revised every 6 months. The first applies in January and the second in July. There was a jump of 4% in DA for July 2022 from the data till June 2022. At present, dearness allowance is being received at the rate of 38 percent. Its calculation is done in percentage by taking Basic Pay as the basis.
