Now there is a discussion that the central government can once again please the employees. The government may announce to increase the House Rent Allowance (HRA) in early January 2022.
Central government sent proposal
The Finance Ministry has started brainstorming to implement the House Rent Allowance (HRA) of more than 11.56 lakh employees. Let us tell you that a proposal has also been sent to the Railway Board for approval of this proposal. If this proposal is approved, then the employees will get HRA in January 2021. Let us tell you that the Indian Railway Technical Supervisors Association and the National Federation of Railwaymen are demanding to implement HRA from January 1, 2021. After increasing the house rent allowance, there will be a bumper increase in the salary.
How much is ‘House Rent Allowance’
Let us tell you that the cities whose population is more than 50 lakhs come under the ‘X’ category. At the same time, those whose population is more than 5 lakhs, they fall in the ‘Y’ category. And cities with a population of less than 5 lakhs come under the ‘Z’ category. The minimum HRA for all three categories will be Rs 5400, 3600 and Rs 1800. According to the Department of Expenditure, when the Dearness Allowance reaches 50 percent, the maximum House Rent Allowance will increase to 30 percent.
State government increased DA
Earlier, the Jharkhand government increased the dearness allowance of all its employees and pensioners by three percent and this increase will be applicable from July 1 this year. A decision to this effect was taken in the cabinet meeting of the Jharkhand government chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. According to this, all the employees and pensioners getting salary under the fifth, sixth and seventh pay commission of the state government will get dearness allowance by three percent from July 1, 2021.
