Fitment Factor Update: The government is considering increasing the dearness allowance (DA Hike) of central employees before Holi in the new year. An agreement can be reached on this in the cabinet meeting to be held in the first week of March.

7th Pay commission Latest News: If you yourself are a central government employee or there is a central employee in your family, then this news will make you happy. The government is considering increasing the dearness allowance (DA Hike) of central employees before Holi in the new year. Actually, dearness allowance is announced twice a year by the government in January and July. This time there is a preparation to increase Dearness Allowance by 4 percent in January.

Currently 38 percent dearness allowance is available
At present, the dearness allowance of central employees and pensioners is 38 percent. Which will increase to 42 percent with an increase of 4 percent in the coming days. However, the DA hike for January will be announced in March. It is expected that a consensus will be reached on this in the cabinet meeting to be held in the first week of March. Apart from this, there is a possibility of discussion on the fitment factor of the employees in the new year.

Demand to revise the fitment factor
There has been a demand from the central employees to revise the fitment factor for a long time. It is expected that the government is preparing to make a separate program on the salary hike of the employees. Sources say that the government is preparing to prepare the draft before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In this draft, there can be talk on the revision of the fitment factor.

In 2017, the basic salary of the employees was increased
by increasing the fitment factor from 2.57 to 3.68, the minimum basic salary will increase from 18 thousand to 26 thousand rupees. Earlier in 2017, the government had made the entry level employees happy by increasing the basic salary. But after that no change was made in it. At present, central employees get Rs 18 thousand as minimum salary, while maximum salary is Rs 66,900.

Preparation to increase the money of employees
The revision of the fitment factor is done on the formation of the Pay Commission. But, this time instead of the Pay Commission, the government is preparing to increase the money of the employees in some other way. Maybe the government should make a formula for automatic pay revision for this. The government also believes that salary increment should be given only on the DA formula for salary revision. That is, along with DA Hike, his salary kept on increasing.

Sources claim that the employees will get the dearness allowance for January just before Holi. An announcement on this is possible at the cabinet meeting to be held on March 1, 2023. Actually 1st March is Wednesday and the next Wednesday is 8th March. But due to Holi on this day, the government will already give the gift of DA hike to the employees. An increase of 4 percent in DA hike is possible.
