There is a demand to increase the fitment factor
Actually, there has been a demand from the central employees for a long time to increase the fitment factor from 2.57 to 3.68. If the government accepts the demand of the employees, then their basic salary will increase by about Rs 8,000. That is, the minimum salary of central employees will increase from Rs 18 thousand to Rs 26 thousand.
There will be an increase in the minimum wage of the employees
If the central government increases the fitment factor to 3.68, then your total salary will increase in this way. Right now if your minimum salary is Rs 18 thousand, then according to the 2.57 fitment factor excluding allowances, you would be getting Rs 46,260 (18,000 X 2.57 = 46,260) right now.
The salary of the employees will be Rs 95,680
At the same time, after the fitment factor is 3.68, your salary will be Rs 95,680 (26000X3.68 = 95,680). That is, your salary will be doubled. At the same time, the employees with maximum salary will get more increase.

Right now the fitment factor is 2.57. While determining the salary, apart from the allowances like DA, TA, HRA etc., the basic salary of the employee is calculated by multiplying the fitment factor by 2.57.
