PM Modi government is going to give a big gift to the central employees. Before Diwali, dearness allowance of central employees will be increased by three percent. This time Diwali is on 12th November. Modi government is giving 42 percent dearness allowance to employees and pensioners. After this increase it will become 45 percent. The benefit of dearness allowance will be given from July 1, 2023.


One crore employees will benefit –

More than one crore employees will benefit from this. Earlier, dearness allowance was increased on January 1, 2023. The dearness allowance of the country’s employees is decided every month on the basis of the Consumer Price Index released by the Labor Bureau. In view of the assembly elections to be held in December 2023, many state governments have already increased the dearness allowance.

Dearness allowance not given during the Corona period-

Modi government did not pay dearness allowance for 18 months during the Corona period. Dearness allowance is due between January 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021. On this basis, dearness allowance was not issued to pensioners also. Regarding three percent dearness allowance, first the Expenditure Department of the Finance Ministry will prepare its proposal and then the Union Cabinet will approve it.
