DA Hike in Jammu & Kashmir: After the gift of Dearness Allowance to lakhs of central employees in September by the Central Government, now good news has come for the employees of another state. After the central government, many state governments including Bihar, Jharkhand, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan have given good news to their employees. On Tuesday, it was announced to increase the DA of government employees of the state of Jammu and Kashmir to 38 percent.

Dearness Allowance will be effective from January 1, 2022
In an order issued by the Secretary of the Finance Department, it was said that on the basis of the recommendation of the 7th Pay Commission (7th Pay Commission), the Dearness Allowance for regular working government employees is increased from 34 percent to 38 percent. Let us tell you that dearness allowance is given to the employees on the basis of basic salary. The new dearness allowance will be effective from January 1, 2022.

Arrears will be paid in two installments
The order further said that the arrears would be paid to the employees in the form of cash payment in two installments. The first installment of arrears will be paid in the last month of November and the second installment will be paid in the month of December. Separate but similar order has been given for pensioners. The dearness allowance of the pensioner has also been increased by 4 percent. These also arrears will be paid in cash in two instalments.

Earlier, along with the central government, many state governments have announced to increase dearness allowance from September to November. Crores of government employees and pensioners will benefit from this decision of the central and various state governments. The next dearness allowance of central government employees will be due in January 2023. However, it is expected to be announced in March 2023.
