The month of September can be full of gifts for Central Government employees. The first Modi cabinet meeting of this month is going to be held on Wednesday. It is expected that employees can get many big gifts before Navratri, due to which salary will increase from 49000 to 96000. 52 lakh employees will get the benefit of this.
According to media reports, in September, the Modi government at the Center can take a decision on increasing the fitment factor along with dearness allowance and DA arrears. There is a possibility that the fitment factor can be increased from 2.57 per cent to 3.68 per cent. If agreed, it can be implemented in September 2022. This will increase the basic salary by 8000, it will increase from 18000 to 26000. With its implementation, the minimum salary of central employees from Level Matrix 1 will start from Rs 26,000. However, no confirmation has been made from the government’s side yet. However, no official statement has come out from the government’s side.
Actually, the fitment factor is considered to be an important role in deciding the basic salary of central employees. Due to this factor, the salary of central employees increases by more than two and a half times. Based on the fitment factor, the revised basic pay is calculated from the old basic pay. Fitment factor is an important recommendation in the last pay commission report, on this basis the increment will be decided. Demand is being raised from 2.57 percent to 3.68 percent so that the basic salary can be increased.
At present, the fitment factor of the employees is 2.57 times, on this basis the minimum basic salary is Rs 18000 and the maximum basic salary is Rs 56900. Last time in 2017 the entry level basic pay was increased from Rs 7000 to Rs 18000 per month and now if it is approved, then the minimum basic salary will be increased by 8000. At present the basic salary at Pay-Level-1 is Rs.18000, if the fitment factor increases then it will be Rs.26000. .
FITMENT FACTOR SALARY CALCULATION
- The minimum pay scale under 6th Pay Commission was Rs 7,000 with fitment factor 1.86 times and increment 54%.
- Under the 7th Pay Commission, the minimum pay scale has reached Rs 18,000 with the fitment factor being 2.57 times and the increment 14.29%.
- Now if the fitment factor is 3.68 times under the 8th Pay Commission, then the minimum pay scale will be 26,000.
- For example, if the basic salary of a central employee is Rs 18,000, then his salary excluding allowances will be Rs 18,000 X 2.57 = profit of Rs 46,260.
- On being 3.68, the salary will be Rs 95,680 (26000 X 3.68 = 95,680) i.e. Rs 49,420 will be benefited in the salary.
