The Cabinet has decided to make necessary amendments in the Contract Appointment Rules, 2013. Employees will get medical reimbursement benefits.
After the increase of 11 percent (7th Pay Commission) in the DA of government employees, now the Government of Odisha has given a big gift to the contract employees. The proposal for a 50 percent increase in salary has been approved. This will cost the government an additional expenditure of about Rs 250 crore every year.
In the Odisha government, Law Minister Pratap Jena said that in the cabinet meeting, it has been decided to increase the salary of all contractual employees by 50 percent. The contractual employees will now be called initial recruits and their existing remuneration will be increased by 50 per cent from the first year of appointment till regularization of their services. Their appointments will be made permanent after 6 years.
