New Delhi: 7th Pay commission latest news: Central employees can get double bonus this month, because they will soon get a 3% increase in their House Rent Allowance. This increase in HRA will be done after the increase in their Dearness Allowance by the government from July 1.

DA was done to 28%
Earlier, the Central Government had increased the DA and Dearness Relief (DR) for Central Government employees and pensioners from 17% to 28% respectively from 1st July. After this, the central government also decided to increase the HRA of central employees from August 2021. Recently, in the order of the Center, it was said that DA and HRA of central government employees should be increased on the basis of their basic salary.

HRA increases in this situation
As per the rules of 7th Pay Commission, HRA of central government employees will increase by 3%, when DA will exceed 25% of basic pay. In an order of the Department of Expenditure, it was said that when DA exceeds 25%, HRA will be automatically revised.

In this way the HRA of the employees will increase
According to media reports, the revised HRA will be paid to the central government employees along with the basic salary of the month. Central government employees get HRA according to the category of the city in which they live. For employees residing in ‘X’ category cities, HRA will be increased to 27%. For residents of ‘Y’ and ‘Z’ categories, HRA will be increased to 18% and 9% respectively.

Explain that cities with a population of more than 50 lakhs come in the X category and cities with a population of more than 5 lakhs and less than five lakhs are kept in the Y and Z category respectively.
