According to the latest media reports, the outstanding DA arrears from January 2020 to June 2021 can be paid soon. The government is going to reconsider this and a meeting can be held soon in this regard. However, no official statement has come on this yet.

In fact, the withheld DA arrears of central employees from January 2020 to June 2021 are outstanding and for a long time there has been a demand for its payment from the central government, several rounds of meetings have been held in this regard, but no decision has been taken. But now according to the latest media reports, a decision can be taken soon on the outstanding DA arrears of more than 1 crore central employees from January 2020 to June 2021. The central government is considering giving 2 lakh rupees of DA together. In this regard, a meeting of the Joint Consultative Mechanism (JCM) with the officials of the Ministry of Finance, Department of Personnel and Training and Department of Expenditure may be held soon. In this one-time payment of DA arrears can be discussed.


According to media reports, if the Central Government pays the DA arrears, then one crore employees i.e. 47 lakh 68 thousand employees and 68 lakh 62 thousand pensioners will get its benefit. Since DA arrears depend on the level of the employees, different DA will be made for different level of employees. This amount will range from 11 thousand to 2.18 lakh. Here, the Employees and Pensioners Organization says that the ruling of the Supreme Court that salary and allowance is the right of the employee, in such a situation, the employees should also get the benefit of 18 months arrears.

Who will get how much profit

According to media reports, under the 7th Pay Commission, as a rough estimate, the DA arrears of level-1 central employees will be between Rs 11,880 to Rs 37,554. Level 13 employees will get Rs 1,44,200 as DA arrears. 2,18,200 will be available. Level-13 7th CPC Basic pay scale ranges from Rs 1,23,100 to Rs 2,15,900. The outstanding DA of Level 14 employees is to be given from Rs 1,44,200 to Rs 2,18,200. The basic salary of the employee is Rs 56,000. He will get DA arrear of 3 months (13,656 + 10,242 + 13,656) = Rs 37,554.
