In the meeting held on Wednesday, the Bihar cabinet approved the proposal to increase the dearness allowance of government employees and pensioners from 28 to 31 percent. This increased dearness allowance will be available in the form of salary and pension from the month of July this year. A total of 23 proposals were approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
After the cabinet meeting, Sanjay Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, said that in the meeting, the agenda of increasing dearness allowance to government employees was approved. Dearness allowance of government employees and pensioners has now been increased from 28 to 31 percent.
He said that the proposal to increase the rates of pension under the JP Samman Yojana to the JP fighters who participated in the movement led by Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan has also been approved in the meeting. In this honor scheme, now instead of Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000, JP fighters will now be given Rs 7,500 to Rs 15,000.
In the meeting, 22 hectares of free land transfer for Darbhanga AIIMS was also approved. Similarly, supply of 9 kg and 6 kg wheat every month was given to all the students of minority hostels deprived of the benefit of free food grains in the Welfare Institution and Hostel Scheme under the Minority Welfare Department.
The Nitish cabinet approved 20 planning areas for the systematic development of rural areas adjacent to urban areas. These include Buxar, Kishanganj, Katihar, Sasaram, Dehri, Motihari, Aurangabad, Hajipur, Jamui, Siwan, Bettiah, Bagaha, Lakhisarai, Khagaria, Araria, Forbesganj, Sitamarhi, Bhabua, Madhubani and Sheohar. The declaration of the area was approved.
