The increase in dearness allowance was stopped from May 2020 due to Corona.

7th Pay Commission Latest News: Modi government can give another big gift to central employees before Diwali. After increasing Dearness Allowance (DA) from 17 per cent to 28 per cent and House Rent Allowance (HRA) from 24 per cent to 27 per cent, there is another good news for central employees.

In fact, the dearness allowance of central employees will increase by three percent and in the coming days it will increase from 28 percent to 31 percent. Earlier in July, the government had already raised DA to 28 per cent. The increase in dearness allowance was stopped in May 2020 due to Corona virus infection.

Since the announcement of DA, central employees are continuously demanding DA arrears. According to the report, talks in this regard were held in an important meeting between the National Council of JCM, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and the Ministry of Finance held on June 26-27. However, no official statement came out on this.

During the Corona period, the central government stopped the dearness allowance of its employees. That is, the DA that was being given to the central employees was being given at the rate of 17 percent. The DA of the employees was stopped for about one and a half years.

According to experts, the DA arrears of Level-1 employees range from Rs 11,880 to Rs 37,554. While the calculation will be done for Level-14 (pay-scale), then the DA in the hands of an employee will be around Rs 1,44,200 to Rs 2,18,200.

The total dearness allowance has increased by 11 per cent as compared to last year. The government has reduced it to 28 per cent from July 2021. Now if it increases by 3 percent in June 2021, then it will reach 31 percent with dearness allowance (17+4+3+4+3). That is, if the basic salary of an employee is Rs 50,000, then he will get DA of Rs 15,500.

At the same time, on the lines of the central government, the state governments have also decided to increase the DA. These states include Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Haryana, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Assam. Dearness Allowance is a fixed part of the basic salary of the employee. To reduce the effect of inflation in the country, the government gives dearness allowance to its employees. It is extended from time to time.
