After the central government increased DA, other states of the country are also increasing DA. The count of states increasing DA includes the states and union territories of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. The central government and most of the states have increased dearness allowance and dearness relief during the period of Dussehra and Diwali.
