7th Pay Commission: After becoming the new Chief Minister of Punjab, Congress Dalit leader Charanjit Singh Channi has made a big announcement regarding the government jobs lying vacant in the state.
He has promised that all the vacant posts will be filled in the next four months. Not only this, he also told that now the Group D (Class IV) employees will be hired as confirmed recruitment instead of contract. Channi told that he has instructed his officers to make one lakh appointments.
On Thursday (September 23, 2021), he told the youth, “Your brother has become the CM and during the inauguration of the state level job fair and the Rs 150 crore Dr BR Ambedkar Museum at IK Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) on Thursday (September 23, 2021). He further said – As a minister, I had insisted that we should have regular posts of class IV employees, but I was told that only class A and class B officers can get such permanent jobs. Those who get a salary of up to two lakh 25 thousand rupees in a month. Those who are getting 10 thousand rupees or more, they always go outside (on contract). Now that I have authority, I will ensure that all Class D employees are admitted.

In his first press conference as Chief Minister, he appealed to the striking workers to end the strike and return to work. The CM said, “Give us some time. The government will solve the problem of the employees.”
