7th Pay Commission latest Big news: Prime Minister Narendra Modi government may soon announce an increase in the fitment factor of central employees
7th Pay Commission latest Big news: Prime Minister Narendra Modi government may soon announce an increase in the fitment factor of central employees. The union government employees have been demanding for a long time to increase the fitment factor from 2.57 times to 3.68 times. So that, the minimum wage is increased from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000. According to media reports, the fitment factor of central employees can be decided soon after the elections. This means that the basic salary of government employees may see an increase of Rs 96000.
Decision will come this month
According to reports, the government is considering this demand of central employees for a long time. However, due to the elections, the model code of conduct is in place due to which there is a delay. It is expected that as a Holi gift, the fitment factor of the employees may be increased.
If the central government increases the fitment factor, then the salary of the central employees will automatically increase. The fitment factor decides the basic salary for all central government employees. The fitment factor was last raised in 2016, wherein the minimum basic pay of employees was increased from Rs 6,000 to Rs 18,000. A possible increase in the fitment factor could lead to a minimum basic pay of Rs 26,000. At present, the minimum basic pay is Rs 18,000, which will increase to Rs 26,000. That is, government employees will get a direct increase of Rs 8000 in the Basic Pay.
Allowances will increase
If the basic pay increases from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000, the dearness allowance will also increase. Dearness Allowance (DA) is equal to 31 per cent of the basic pay. DA is calculated by multiplying the DA rate by the basic pay. That is, due to increase in basic salary, dearness allowance will automatically increase. The basic salary will directly increase by Rs 8000 per month and Rs 96000 annually.
