7th Pay Commission: An order of the Ministry of Personnel said that it has been decided by the competent authority to extend the package of concessions/incentives to the Central Government employees working in the Kashmir Valley for an additional period of three years from August 1, 2024.
7th Pay Commission: If you are a central government employee then this news may be of use to you. Actually, the central government has extended the concession and incentive package for its employees working in the Kashmir Valley for three years. The valley includes 10 districts – Anantnag, Baramulla, Budgam, Kupwara, Pulwama, Srinagar, Kulgam, Shopian, Ganderbal and Bandipora.
What is in the government order
An order of the Ministry of Personnel said that it has been decided by the competent authority to extend the package of concessions/incentives to the Central Government employees working in the Kashmir Valley for an additional period of three years from August 1, 2024. It said that the incentive package is equally applicable to all ministries, departments and public sector undertakings under the Government of India and they should ensure strict adherence to the rates prescribed in the package.
The order said that the employees posted in the valley have the option to take their families to any selected place of their choice in India at government expense. At the same time, TA i.e. transport allowance for families will be given at the rate of 80 per cent of the basic salary of the previous month. The order said that employees who do not want to take their families to the selected place of residence are given an allowance of Rs 141 per day for each day of attendance to compensate for any additional expenses in commuting to and from office etc.
Pensioners also get relief
The order said that those pensioners of the valley who are unable to receive their monthly pension through public sector banks or Pay and Accounts Office or treasuries will be given pension outside the valley where they are settled by giving relaxation in the relevant provisions.
