Salary of government employees will increase

The Karnataka Cabinet on Monday decided to implement the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission from August 1. This decision of the government will benefit more than seven lakh employees of the state. The government’s decision will increase the basic salary by 27.5 percent. At the same time, an additional burden of Rs 17,440.15 crore is estimated to fall on the government treasury annually.

How much will the salary of government employees increase

Actually, the employees of the Karnataka government had announced to go on an indefinite strike in August. Due to which there was pressure on the government to increase the salary. Earlier, giving some relief to the employees, the then Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai had increased the salary by 17 percent on an interim basis in March 2023. Now the Siddaramaiah government can increase it by 10.5 percent. If government sources are to be believed, then under the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission, there will be a total increase of 27.5 percent on the basic salary of the employees.

According to the data, after the official announcement of the government, the salary of more than seven lakh employees of Karnataka will increase. The Karnataka Cabinet on Monday decided to implement the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission from August 1. It is believed that its official announcement on behalf of the government can be made by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the Assembly on Tuesday. The Seventh Pay Commission headed by former Chief Secretary K Sudhakar Rao has recommended a 27.5 percent increase in the basic salary of government employees.

The Eighth Pay Commission may be announced in the budget

Central government employees hope that the Finance Minister can give them a big gift in the budget this time. The Eighth Pay Commission is being demanded to revise the basic salary, allowances, pension and other facilities of central employees.
