7th Pay Commission Latest News: The Central Government is going to restore Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) benefits for Central employees and pensioners respectively, but the question is whether it will be implemented immediately on the 7th Pay Commission pay matrix of the employees. will it have an effect? According to the National Council of JCM, the resumption of DA and DR benefits of 7th Pay Commission of Central Government employees and pensioners will take time. It said that in a recent meeting with the Ministry of Finance and DoPT (Department of Personnel and Training) chaired by the Cabinet Secretary, it has been decided that 7th CPC DA and 7th CPC DR will be resumed in September 2021 .

Elaborating on when the DA and DR benefits will resume, Shiv Gopal Mishra Secretary – Staff Side, National Council said, “In our meeting held on 26 June 2021, it has been agreed that DA of Central Government employees And DR benefits of pensioners will be resumed in September 2021.”

Shiv Gopal Mishra said that once the DA and DR are restored, the finance ministry will send a proposal to the cabinet to reintroduce these benefits, which will lead to an increase in the 7th CPC pay. The cabinet will give its approval on the proposal and thereafter the DA and DR benefits of the 7th Pay Commission will resume. He said that the time taken for resumption of these benefits for about 1.12 crore central government employees and pensioners will be reduced through DA and DR dues with effect from July 1, 2021.

Shiv Gopal Mishra further said that both the DAs (due from January 2021 and July 1, 2021) may be announced in September 2021 and in that case central government employees and pensioners will have to wait for the next two more months. However, he reiterated that as per the DA calculation of 7th Pay Commission; The DA payable from January 2021 will be at least 4 per cent, while the DA payable from July will be 3 per cent or 4 per cent. Hence, when the DA and DR benefit is resumed, the existing DA will increase from 17 per cent to 31 per cent to 32 per cent. (17 + 4 + 3 + 4 + 3/4).

However, the impasse over the payment of three DA and DR installments to the Central Government employees and pensioners still persists as the scheduled 26 June 2021 meeting chaired by the Cabinet Secretary cannot resolve the payment of three installments of DA and DR benefits to the Central Government. Failed to find. Shiv Gopal Mishra said that the central government representatives present in the meeting and the National Council of JCM will sit again to find a solution to the impasse.
