7th Pay Commission DA Hike: There is great news for central employees. There may be a big increase in salary at the end of September. More than 1 crore central employees and pensioners will benefit from this.
The government may announce an increase in the dearness allowance (DA Hike) of central government employees in the month of September. This increase will be applicable from July 2023. DA is to increase from July 2023 based on AICPI data from January to June 2023. At present the employees are getting 42% dearness allowance. If we look at the figures, it may increase to 46% in the coming days.
DA can reach 46%
According to the Labor Bureau, the AICPI-IW figure in June 2023 is at 136.4 points. In this context, the total dearness allowance can increase by 4% to reach 46.24%. In such a situation, DA of employees can be increased from 42 percent to 46 percent. The Union Cabinet will announce this. If sources are to be believed, this may be announced in the cabinet meeting to be held on September 27.
Salary will increase by 90 thousand rupees
According to experts, if there is an increase of 34 percent DA in the dearness allowance of central employees under the 7th Pay Commission, then there can be a big relief for them. If the basic salary of an employee is Rs 30 thousand per month, then this will increase his salary by Rs 1200 per month.
His gross salary will increase by Rs 14,400 on annual basis. There will be an increase of Rs 10,000 in the salary of Cabinet Secretary level officers. The maximum basic salary at the Cabinet Secretary level is Rs 250,000 per month. In such a situation, the increase in his annual DA will be Rs 1,20,000.
7th Pay Commission: Increase in dearness allowance index?
In fact, inflation has increased continuously in the last two months. AICPI figures have been quite sharp in July. However, this will not be counted in the previous dearness allowance. But, there has been a continuous increase in the AICPI index. Therefore, it is being estimated that dearness allowance will increase by only 4%.
Experts are also assuming that DA will increase only by 4%. Under the 7th Pay Commission, Dearness Allowance (DA) is money which is given to government employees to improve their standard of living.
7th Pay Commission: DA is revised in 6 months?
Dearness allowance is given to government employees, pensioners and public sector employees. Dearness allowance is given so that even after the increase in inflation, the employees do not face any problem in earning their living. Usually it is revised every 6 months. However, the government announces this as per policy. The announcement can be made anytime, but DA Hike is implemented from January and July.
By which formula does dearness allowance increase?
Dearness allowance is calculated on basic salary. There is a formula for this, which is determined by the consumer price index (CPI). Percentage of dearness allowance = Average of CPI of last 12 months-115.76. Now whatever comes will be divided by 115.76. The number obtained will be multiplied by 100.
