DA may increase by 4 percent
From the data of consumer inflation in May, it has been decided that the dearness allowance of government servants within the central government will be increased by 4 percent. However, the consumer inflation data for the month of June is yet to come. Its figures will be released on July 31. After which it will be decided that, how much will be the total increase in dearness allowance.
Let us tell you that the dearness allowance of central employees is linked to the All India Consumer Price Index. If this figure increases continuously, then dearness allowance is also increased accordingly. The figures for five months have been released in the first half. The June figures are yet to come.
Experts are claiming that in June this figure will reach 130. Due to which the way will be cleared for 4 percent increase in dearness allowance of central employees. In May, the figure of the All India Consumer Price Index index stood at 129 points. With this it is certain that in the coming days, dearness allowance will increase at the rate of 4 percent.
DA will increase so much
If the dearness allowance to central employees is increased by 4 percent, then their DA will increase to 38 percent. Let us tell you that at present, DA is given to the central employees at the rate of 34 percent.
If you look at the minimum basic salary of Rs 18,000 under the 7th pay commission, then the total increase in annual dearness allowance at the rate of 38 percent will be Rs 6840. That means, against the current dearness allowance, Rs 720 will increase every month. Overall, central employees with a basic salary of Rs 18000 will get Rs 8640 more dearness allowance annually.
